According to a MPD press release, Matthew S. Cook, age 32 of Mattoon, was arrested on a Coles County warrant at 3:23 p.m. in the 1200 block of Wabash Avenue. Cook was charged with Theft of Services. The charge alleges that Cook obtained a cab ride to Mattoon from Danville, and that he then refused to pay the cab fare and fled on foot. Cook was taken to the jail.
