Mother Sues Over Hatchimals Toy
(Bakersfield, CA) — A California mother is suing the maker of Hatchimals after the toy she bought her daughter two weeks ago didn’t electronically Hatch as promised. In a class-action lawsuit filed in federal court, Jodie Hejduk calls Hatchimals defective and accuses the company, Spin Master, of engaging in a “bait and switch marketing scheme.” She says it “sold millions of families and their eager children a complete and total fraud.” The suit seeks an unspecified amount in damages. An attorney for Spin Master tells CNBC the company provided troubleshooting support and supplied replacement Hatchimals for consumers whose toys did not work properly.
