The state’s largest employee union is beginning a strike authorization vote today for its 30-thousand members after a year-long battle with the Rauner administration at the bargaining table and in court. The vote’s being held for the next three weeks. It would give the union leadership the power to call a strike at some point in the future. Governor Rauner has tried to implement the terms of his most recent offer, but has been blocked by the courts.
