The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory that ends at 6pm tonight for Edgar, Champaign, Vermilion, McLean, Tazewell, Fulton, Woodofrd, Marshall, Peoria, Stark and Knox counties.
Timing: An initial wave of snow will be moving into west- central Illinois by daybreak, and reach the Indiana border by late morning. A second, more widespread, area of snow will reach west-central Illinois by late morning, and impact east-central Illinois for much of the afternoon.
Main Impact: Snow accumulations of 2″-3″ inches are anticipated across most of the advisory area by the time the snow ends later this afternoon or this evening. However, locally heavier bands of snow are also possible and would produce higher snow totals.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions: A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities…and use caution while driving.
