Pediatricians Warn About Pot Use By Teens
(Chicago, IL) — A group of pediatricians is warning about the potential harm to teenagers who use marijuana. With the growing number of lax laws and attitudes about pot use, the American Academy of Pediatrics says it opposes recreational and medical marijuana for children. In a report published today in “Pediatrics,” the group is stressing the potential effects to the developing brain in people up to 20-years-old. They said the alarm was sounded because of the number of states legalizing medicinal pot for adults, and either decriminalized or legalized use as a recreational drug. The report says pediatricians are getting increasingly more questions from parents about children’s use of marijuana.
