Governor Opens Jobs Portal Ahead Of Possible State Worker Strike
(Springfield, IL) — The state of Illinois could soon be hiring. Governor Rauner’s office yesterday announced a new jobs portal on the state’s website that will allow people to apply for state jobs if there is a public employee strike. Illinois’ largest public employee union, AFSCME, authorized a strike last week. The governor’s office says the new portal is a way to find workers who’ll be able to keep state government functioning in a worst case scenario.
