Illinois Senate Moves Some Of ‘Grand Bargain’ Forward
(Springfield, IL) — The heavy lifting in Springfield likely comes today. The Illinois Senate yesterday moved a few pieces of the so-called “grand bargain” forward. Senators voted for a gambling expansion, local government consolidation, and a purchasing reform package. They voted down a pension reform piece. A new vote on pensions and a vote on the plan’s tax increases should come later today.
