Mulvaney: Meals On Wheels Not Worth It
(Washington, DC) — Meals on Wheels may be popular but it also may not be worth the money. That’s according to White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney. He says the government shouldn’t waste money on things “just because they sound good.” Funding for the program that provides hot meals to homebound older Americans would be cut under President Trump’s budget blueprint. Community Development Block Grants, which the administration wants to end, provide three-billion dollars a year to Meals on Wheels. That amounts to about three-percent of the program’s annual budget.
