This year’s royalty was crowned during opening night of the Coles County Fair. Sidney Edwards is the new Miss Coles County, first runner-up was Ashley Pearcy, and Samantha Thompson was second runner-up. Whitney Meaker was named Miss Congeniality. Little Miss is Khloe Fredrick.
Today at the Coles County Fair, the 4-H goat show starts at 8:00 a.m., swine show at 9:00, art hall judging also starts at 9:00. The Merchant’s Building will open at 11:30, the 4-H Extension Center from 1:00-8:00, the carnival opens at 4:00, and armband night will be from 6:00-10:00. Tonight at the grandstand, ‘Lil Monster Trucks, starting at 7:00.
