A Brocton man was sentenced to 17 years in federal prison for his role in a planned methamphetamine sale last summer. The prison sentence will be followed by eight-years of supervised release or parole for 39-year-old Nicholas Ingram. Another suspect in the case, 40-year-old Amanda Ervin, of Mattoon, pleaded guilty to possession and was sentenced to 2 ½ years of probation. Cases are pending against two others: James and Melissa Harris, also of Mattoon
