Rick Pitino: Fraud Allegations A ‘Shock’
(Louisville, KY) — Reports say University of Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino is telling his staff he expects to lose his job after allegations of fraud and money laundering in his program. Federal prosecutors yesterday announced a sweeping investigation into college basketball, specifically that coaches steered players to agents and took money from shoe companies to pay players. The University of Louisville is among the schools under investigation. Yesterday, Pitino said the allegations come as a complete shock.
Louisville is already on probation, and Pitino is facing a suspension following a sex scandal investigation involving his players.
