John Farrell Is Out As Red Sox Manager
(Boston, MA) — John Farrell is no longer manager of the Boston Red Sox. The President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowksi made the announcement this morning. Farrell managed the team for five seasons, leading the Red Sox to a 93-69 record in 2017, the third-best record in the American League and fifth best in the major leagues. During his tenure the team won three division titles and the World Series in 2013. Boston was eliminated from post-season play earlier this week by the Houston Astros. It was the second consecutive year the Sox lost in the first-round of the playoffs.
