District 10 Commander, Captain Louis Kink is pleased to announce the arrival of four new Troopers joining District 10.
Trooper Joseph Rush, Trooper Michael Higgins, Trooper Jennifer Smit, and Trooper Zachary Weishaar were four of 61 newly commissioned Troopers that graduated from the 25-week Illinois State Police Academy on December 22, 2017.
They reported to District 10 Headquarters this morning for their first day of the next phase of training, a 14-week Field Training Program. They are required to participate in one-on-one mentoring with Field Training Officers (FTOs), expanding their training to 39 weeks. Each Trooper met their FTO and was given their remaining assigned equipment, including their squad cars.
Trooper Higgins, Trooper Rush, Trooper Smit, and Trooper Weishaar will immediately begin their patrol duties, joining veteran Troopers in the effort to safeguard Illinois roadways.
Congratulations to the new Troopers and may they have a safe, rewarding career.
