Hoda Kotb Debuts As “Today” Show Co-Anchor
(Undated) — Hoda Kotb debuts today as the official co-anchor of NBC’s “Today” show. Kotb will join Savannah Guthrie at the anchor desk for the first two hours of “Today.” The 53-year-old Kotb is filling the vacancy created when long-time anchor Matt Lauer was fired in late November over sexual misconduct. She’ll continue co-hosting the fourth hour of “Today” with Kathie Lee Gifford. Kotb has frequently substituted on “Today’s” anchor desk over the years. She joined NBC as a “Dateline” correspondent in 1998.
