
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for our listening area (Christian, Moultrie, Douglas, Coles, Edgar, Shelby, Cumberland, Clark, Effingham, Jasper, Crawford, Clay, Richland, and Lawrence counties) in effect from 6 p.m. this evening to noon on Tuesday
Bitterly cold wind chills of 15 below to
20 below zero will cause frostbite to exposed skin in as little
as 30 minutes tonight through Tuesday morning.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.
