France Investigating Nutella Promotion That Led To Brawls
(Paris) — French officials are investigating a Nutella promotion that led to violence in supermarkets. Last week, shoppers jostled to buy the heavily discounted chocolate and hazelnut spread. It was discounted 70-percent. France has strict rules about the size of discounts that retailers can put on products outside of official sales periods. Police were called when people began fighting and pushing one another. One customer told French media a woman had her hair pulled, an elderly woman was hit in the head with a box, and another had a bloody hand.
