Russian Bobsledder Caught For Doping
(PyeongChang, South Korea) — A Russian bobsledder is the second athlete from the country to fail a doping test at this year’s Winter Olympics. Women’s bobsledder Nadezhda Sergeeva tested positive for a performance enhancing drug on February 18th, five days after a previous doping test returned negative results for her. That comes after Russian curling medalist Alexander Krushelnitsky had his bronze medal stripped for failing a doping test earlier this week. The Russian Olympic Committee was banned from the PyeongChang Olympics because of a widespread doping scandal in 2014. Athletes from the country have been competing under an Olympic banner as “Olympic Athletes From Russia.”
