The inaugural CARE game at Lantz Arena was a huge success. According to EIU Athletics, the event raised more than $10,000 which was donated to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Regional Cancer Center. Area schools also supported the event with “Penny Drives.” Ashmore Elementary was the top school, raising more than $1,100 with Meg Herbert’s Kindergarten class leading the way with $393.01.
