This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for: Champaign-Christian-Coles-De Witt-Douglas-Edgar-Logan-Macon-McLean-Menard-Moultrie-Piatt-Sangamon-Shelby and Vermilion counties
DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT… Isolated thunderstorms are expected today.
There is a Marginal Risk that some of the storms tonight may become severe. Hail and damaging winds are the primary hazards. South wind gusts around 30 to 35 mph are likely today, causing travel difficulties for high profile vehicles.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY… A Slight Risk of severe storms has been defined for Saturday afternoon, mainly between 2 pm and 6 pm. Hail and damaging winds will be the primary hazards, but an isolated tornado will be possible.
Much colder air will move back in behind that system. Freezing conditions are likely Sunday night and Monday night. .
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT… Spotter activation may be needed this evening.
