One person died and another was injured in an accident last night in Clay County. According to the Illinois State Police, 67-year-old William Viehmeyer, of Clay City was attempting to pass another vehicle of Route 45, lost control, went off the road and overturned multiple times. He and a passenger, 43-year-old Randall Helms, of Louisville were ejected from the vehicle. Viehmeyer died at the scene and Helms was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
