A Mattoon man was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison after admitting to hitting a woman multiple times in the face. Matthew Vaughn, who was twice convicted of domestic violence previously, was also ordered to pay fines and court costs. Vaughn also received a record of unsuccessfully completing the probation sentences he received for the two earlier convictions.
