Mercer County Declares Itself A Gun Sanctuary
(Aledo, IL) — Mercer County is the latest county in Illinois to declare itself a sanctuary for gun owners. The county board last night unanimously approved a resolution declaring that the county will ‘stand up’ for gun owners’ Second Amendment rights. Mercer County is the 30th county in the state to adopt a gun sanctuary resolution. Board Member Brian Anseeuw says the idea is to send a message to Springfield and Chicago that the folks in Mercer County don’t want to be told what to do when it comes to their gun rights.
