Carr Fire Containment Inches Up But Fire Keeps Expanding
(Redding, CA) — Containment of the deadly and destructive Carr Fire in Northern California is improving a little, but the blaze is still gaining ground on its 15th day. Cal Fire says about three-thousand more acres burned overnight for a total of 163-thousand and containment improved from 43-percent last night to 45-percent this morning. Structures destroyed remains stable at just over 16-hundred, but about 12-hundred are still threatened. Seven people have been killed by the Carr Fire, including a PG&E lineman who died on duty in the fire zone after a vehicle collision Saturday afternoon.
