Ohio State Hires Outside Law Firm To Investigate Urban Meyer Allegations
(Columbus, OH) — Ohio State is hiring an outside law firm to investigate whether head football coach Urban Meyer knew about a domestic violence claim against a former assistant. The University says the inquiry is expected to be completed within two weeks. Meyer was put on paid leave last week after the ex-wife of former wide receivers coach Zach Smith said she told Meyer’s wife in 2015 that her then-husband was abusing her. In 2009, Smith was accused of aggravated battery on his then-pregnant wife while he was working for Meyer at the University of Florida.
