Education Department Revising Sex Assault Rules
(Washington, DC) — Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is working to craft new rules for how universities deal with sexual assault and harassment. The goal is to boost protection for students accused of sexual assault and decrease liability for schools, the New York Time reports. They would make it more difficult to prove a school mishandled a case. They would also narrow the definition of what constitutes sexual harassment. A Department of Education spokeswoman called the Times report premature and speculative and declined further comment.
