(Annapolis, MD) — Five days of national mourning is now over following the burial of Senator John McCain. This afternoon, a private funeral was held at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland where hundreds of people lined the streets. The intimate, final ceremony featured speeches from Senator Lindsey Graham, former CIA Director General David Petraeus and McCain’s son Jack. A squadron of military jets flew over the cemetery in a “missing man” formation to honor the 81-year-old Republican senator who served for three decades. McCain lies next to his best friend Navy Admiral Chuck Larson who died back in 2014. Larson reserved four plots at the cemetery, two for him and his wife and two for John and Cindy McCain.
