Cat 4 Hurricane Florence Expected To Restrengthen Later Today
(Miami, FL) — Hurricane Florence remains a Category 4 storm with hurricane and storm surge watches up along the coasts of North and South Carolina. As of 11:00 a.m. Eastern time, the National Hurricane Center located Florence in the southwestern Atlantic just over 900 miles east-southeast of Cape Fear, North Carolina and moving west-northwest at 16 miles-an-hour. This morning, Air Force hurricane hunter aircraft found that top winds had dropped to 130 miles-an-hour, but the hurricane is expected to restrengthen later today. On the forecast track, Hurricane Florence will move between Bermuda and the Bahamas through tomorrow and approach the coast of North or South Carolina on Thursday.
