New York To Hold Annual 9-11 Memorial Ceremony
(New York, NY) — It’s a somber day in New York City as officials recognize the 17th anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist attacks with a ceremony this morning. The names of the nearly three-thousand people who died in the attacks will be read out loud at the 9-11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan. Several thousand family members and friends who lost loved ones are expected to gather near where the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center once stood. There will be moments of silence at the times the hijacked planes were driven into the World Trade Center, Pentagon and field in Pennsylvania.
