Ground-breaking Diabetes Study Underway In UK
(Cardiff) — A new study underway in the UK could help people with diabetes produce more insulin. Scientists at Cardiff and Vale University are testing a type-one diabetes drug that might help reduce daily reliance on injections. The university said in a statement that the first two patients in the world have been given a new drug that could regrow crucial hormone-producing cells that make insulin. People with type-one diabetes usually treat their disease by injecting insulin on a daily basis.
