South Carolina Officials Warn Of Days Of Rain
(Columbia, SC) — South Carolina officials are warning of possible record-breaking floods and catastrophic rainfall as a result of Hurricane Florence. In a news conference today, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster said the slow moving storm could dump rain on the state for a few days. McMaster remarked that areas may not have power for weeks because utility crews may not be able to get to where they need to be due to flooding. He urged patience, and said the last thing he wants is for someone to lose their life because they couldn’t wait a bit. Florence is currently a Category One hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 75 miles an hour.
