Bookie FanDuel Won’t Honor Bet To Pay $82,000
(Undated) — A New Jersey bookmaker won’t honor a bet that would have paid 82-thousand dollars. FanDuel says it’s holding back because there was an error in the oddsmaking process. A man named Anthony Prince put down 110 dollars at the sportsbook at Meadowlands Racetrack on Sunday when the Denver Broncos were trailing the Oakland Raiders 19-17 late in the fourth quarter. FanDuel says it tried to update the live betting odds after Denver quarterback Case Keenum completed a pass that put the Broncos on the Raiders’ 18-yard line, in easy field goal range. The Broncos won, but Prince didn’t. The 750-1 odds that were posted were wrong. Instead of the Denver win turning 110 bucks into more than 82-thousand, the correct odds would have netted 18 dollars and 35 cents.
