This Hazardous Weather Outlook, from the National Weather Service, is for portions of central Illinois, east central Illinois, southeast Illinois and west central Illinois including Cass-Champaign-Christian-Clark-Clay-Coles-Crawford-Cumberland-De Witt-Douglas-Edgar-Effingham-Fulton-Jasper-Knox-Lawrence-Logan- Macon-Marshall-Mason-McLean-Menard-Morgan-Moultrie-Peoria-Piatt-Richland-Sangamon-Schuyler-Scott-Shelby-Stark-Tazewell-Vermilion and Woodford counties.
DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT… Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible through the morning hours, with the better chances east of Interstate 55. However, there is a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms across all of Central Illinois this afternoon and into this evening. There will be scattered activity in the early afternoon hours, and again with the passage of the cold front later on this evening. The primary concern associated with these storms is damaging winds and large hail, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY… Isolated thunderstorms are again possible this weekend starting Friday night. The risk of severe storms is low this weekend.
