Job Growth Slows But Unemployment Lowest Since 1969
(Undated) — The nation’s unemployment rate is the lowest in almost half a century. The Labor Department reports this morning the jobless rate fell to three-point-seven percent in September. That’s the lowest since 1969. However, job growth was nothing to write home about. The economy added only 134-thousand jobs last month. That’s well below the 180-thousand jobs analysts forecast and less than half the revised total of 270-thousand new jobs in August.
