Trade Deficit Up to $53.2 Billion
(Undated) — President Trump’s tariffs don’t seem to be cutting the nation’s trade deficit. Figures out this morning show the deficit widened by three-point-two billion dollars in August, to 53-point-two billion. The increase over July is almost six and-a-half percent. The numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the U.S. Census mean the trade deficit is up 31-billion dollars this year.
