SIU Administrators Promise To Continue Former Chancellor’s Reorganization
(Carbondale, IL) — Administrators at Southern Illinois University’s Carbondale campus are promising to continue their former chancellor’s work. The school’s interim provost yesterday said they will push forward with Carlo Montemagno’s proposed restructuring of the school. Montemagno died last week after a battle with cancer. Before his death, Montemagno was the driving force behind a plan to streamline SIU-C to try and save money, and focus more on students and less university bureaucracy.
