Questions Linger About Southern Illinois Body
(Benton, IL) — Investigators in southern Illinois say they’re 95 percent sure about the identity of a decomposing body found back in August. But they’re not sure how the man died. Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones told The Southern Illinoisan yesterday that they used DNA tests to identify the man found near an old coal mine in West Frankfort in August. But the sheriff says they still don’t know if foul play is involved in the man’s death.
