Bank Forecloses On Lincoln Grand 8 Theater
(Lincoln, IL) — Regions Bank is foreclosing on the iconic Lincoln Grand 8 Theater. Documents show the theater owes nearly 4-million dollars in loan payments going back to 2017. Originally built in the 1920s, Lincoln city officials agreed in 2014 to give its owners tax benefits and a loan to revitalize the movie theater and to add more screens. City officials told the State Journal-Register over the weekend that even if the theater has to come under new ownership, they’ll still pay property taxes, which is good for the city.
