Feds Give $180k To Renovate Rock Springs-Fairview Bike Trail
(Decatur, IL) — The federal government is giving Macon County more than 180-thousand dollars to renovate the Rock Springs-Fairview Bike Trail in Decatur. The grant covers about 80 percent of the total cost of the project, so the county conservation district will have to come up with the rest. Officials said the trail’s three wooden bridges over the Sangamon River are getting old and need to be replaced, and embankments need reshaping. They expect to start work next year.
