UI Deans Ask For Changes To Sexual Harassment Policies
(Champaign, IL) — All 17 deans at the University of Illinois are asking school officials to revise its policies when it comes to sexual harassment complaints against faculty. The deans sent a joint letter to the Chancellor yesterday asking for faster investigations into complaints and more serious consequences for bad behavior. The letter was sparked by a recent controversy surrounding tenured Law Professor Jay Kesan, who was accused of making sexually explicit comments to co-workers and a student but who ultimately kept his job after a two-year investigation.
