French protests over a gas tax are leaving one person dead and 227 injured. More than 280-thousand protesters across the country rallied today in more than two-thousand rallies, expressing their anger over President Emmanuel Macron’s move to raise gas taxes in order to wean France off fossil fuel. One person died in southeastern France after being hit by a car. Protesters blocked roads and stormed a government building in northeastern France. Government officials say dozens of people have been arrested. They noted while they won’t bar protests from happening, they won’t allow protesters to block roads.
