(Columbus, OH) – Urban Meyer will be retiring after coaching the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. Ryan Day, who is the team’s offensive coordinator, will become Ohio State’s new full-time head coach on January 2nd. Meyer had been suspended for the first three games of this season after an investigation looked into his handling of claims of domestic violence that were made against a former assistant coach. Meyer has also been battling health issues, as a cyst in his brain has grown in the last couple of years, causing regular headaches. Meyer has compiled an 82-9 record in seven seasons with the Buckeyes, including a 7-0 record against Michigan, and winning three Big Ten titles.
