New Vaccine Rules Kept Hundreds Of Rock Island Students Home
(Rock Island, IL) — Illinois’ new vaccine rules kept hundreds of kids out of the classroom in Rock Island county alone. The Dispatch-Argus reported yesterday that 410 kids in the county were excluded because they didn’t meet the October deadline to get all of their vaccines. Illinois has required kids to be vaccinated since 2014, but the paper quotes the Illinois State Board of Education as saying this is the first year that there are ‘teeth’ to go with the requirement.
