Advocates Push For More Mental Health Treatment Access
(Chicago, IL) — Advocates for the mentally ill say they know the kind of treatment that works, but in Illinois people often can’t get any treatment. Lawmakers held a hearing in Chicago yesterday to talk about the need for more access to mental health programs. The problem, advocates say, is that Illinois’ budget crisis made access to care even more scarce.
