Breakfast Become Beer And Saves Waste
(Battle Creek, MI) — Rejected corn flakes will no longer be wasted. Kellogg’s is joining with Seven Brothers Brewery in the UK to turn their leave-behinds into beer. It’ll take about 130 pounds of Kellogg’s corn Flakes per batch of the five-percent ABV craft beer. Kate Prince, spokesperson for Kellogg’s in UK , says “Kellogg’s is always exploring different and sustainable ways to reduce food waste in its factories. So, it is great to be involved in such a fun initiative with a local supplier.” This is reportedly part of a growing trend of craft beers being made from breakfast cereals. There have been craft beers made with Cap’n Crunch, CrunchBerries, Fruity Pebbles and Count Chocula to name a few.
