New EIU head football coach Adam Cushing signed three players from Illinois to national letters of intent today.
Grant Edwards, who played both defensive end and linebacker at Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin; Two-way player Donovan Perkins, who split time at defensive back and wide receiver at New Trier High School; and Anthony Shockey, the Upstate Eight Defensive Player of the Year as linebacker for Glenbard East High School.
This is the second year that the NCAA has permitted schools to sign high school players during the early signing period.
