Illinois Attorney General Finds 500 Priests Accused Of Abuse
(Springfield, IL) — Illinois’ attorney general says her investigation into the Catholic Church has found 500 priests accused of abuse. Attorney General Lisa Madigan yesterday released a report into the church. Madigan says the state’s six dioceses have done a terrible job of confronting abuse and protecting victims. The report says Catholic leaders have publicly identified 186 priests of abuse, but Madigan said the real number is much higher.
