Illinois Public Health Managers Warn Of Possibly Tainted Crack
(Springfield, IL) — Public health managers in Springfield are warning of a possibly tainted batch of crack in Illinois. The Illinois Department of Public Health yesterday said they got calls about ten people who’d been taken to hospitals in and around Chicago since Thursday evening after smoking crack cocaine. The IDPH says the worry is that the people couldn’t breathe or had heart attacks. One person died. IDPH officials say doing drugs is always harmful, but they say they’re putting out this warning because there’s been a cluster of people made sick by these drugs.
