Study: Jersey Number One For People Moving Out
(Undated) — A study shows New Jersey has the highest percentage of people moving out of any state in America. A national movers study by United Van Lines shows in 2018, nearly 67 percent of Jersey moves were outbound when comparing people coming and going. Some 34 percent say the primary reason they are moving out of Jersey is because of retirement while another 34 percent say it’s for job reasons.
Connecticut and New York are in the top five among states seeing more people go than come. In New York, a little over 61 percent of the moves were outbound.
