Mother Of Ex-NU Basketball Player Blames Sorority For Her Death
(Evanston, IL) — The mother of former Northwestern University basketball player Jordan Hankins is blaming a sorority for her daughter’s death. Hankins’ mother filed a lawsuit this week against Alpha Kappa Alpha, claiming her daughter was a victim of hazing by sorority members, which caused severe anxiety and depression that led to her suicide in 2017. The suit says Hankins was subjected to physical abuse, mental abuse, financial exploitation, and sleep deprivation. Hankins was 19 at the time of her death and a sophomore guard on the women’s basketball team.
