Alexander Lumber Closing Yards In Seven Illinois Communities
(Bloomington, IL) — One of downstate Illinois’ largest lumber suppliers is closing up shop in a half dozen communities. Alexander Lumber said on Wednesday that it is closing stores in Bloomington, Lincoln, Canton, Monmouth, Rushville, Taylorville, and Gillman. The company says they are restructuring to serve larger communities. Many of the lumber yards should close by the end of the month, and there’s no word just how many people will lose their jobs.
